Mr. Tim McGunagle went from business owner to teacher, then to retired. He says that he will miss the staff and students the most. Mr. McGunagle taught at many schools before WMS. However, none of them portrayed the same sense of community or family. The staff also had lovely personalities that through the years, he enjoyed.
Looking into the future, he is excited for wood craft and staying healthy. Carving blocks of wood is a long time hobby of his. We wish him the best in his future, and hope he enjoys his retirement.
Mr. Gary Carmichael has taught at Muldown, Whitefish High School, WMS, as well as other schools. Now he is retiring.
Mr. Carmichael said he wanted to be a teacher because "I loved learning about things."
He chose to teach at WMS because he had taught at all the schools in the rest of the district and was excited for the change. The highlight of his career was seeing the lightbulbs come on in students' heads. He was looking forward to travel with his wife and he will miss the excitement of the students. He taught 7 years for WMS and now we will all wish him a happy farewell.
Chris DeWan, long time (and awesome) custodian is also retiring this year. We wish him the very best.
