Athlete / Judge Course Review + Meeting
We’re excited to offer athletes a unique opportunity to connect directly with the judging panel throughout the week.
Tuesday (Post-Training – On Course)
Following the first day of training, Head Judge Elliott Carter will host an on-course review with athletes at 3pm, walking through the build, features, and how the course will be approached from a judging perspective.
Wednesday @ 5:00 PM – Athlete & Judge Meeting in Hilton Comp Office
We will also host a formal Athlete & Judge Meeting focused on trick selection, scoring, and judging criteria.
The purpose of this session is to give athletes direct and open access to the judges. The goal is to demystify freeski judging and create full transparency around how performances are evaluated.
We recognize that information can sometimes get lost as it passes from judges to coaches to athletes—this session is designed to eliminate that gap. Athletes are encouraged to ask questions and engage in discussion to gain a clear understanding of how runs are assessed.
We’ve done this for a couple years now and has extremely well received. We strongly encourage all athletes to attend.
Coaches are welcome to observe, with time allocated for coach questions following the athlete-focused discussion.
Our amazing sponsor - Gibbons - is hosting an official NorAm Welcome Après for us at Stonesedge Kitchen. This will be a great opportunity to connect, celebrate, and get to mix and mingle pre-competition.
Please RSVP here if you didn't above
We will have your tickets available at the door. There will be a limited menu available for guests to purchase food as well. Athletes and families, coaches, officials and volunteers all welcome. Please RSVP above so we know how many to expect so we can have enough drink tickets ready at the door upon your arrival. Athletes under 19 are welcome also! Any questions reach out to Megs: megs@whistlerblackcombfreestyle.com or 604-375-4136
We’re excited to have a full media team on site, including livestream production, drone coverage, multiple photographers, and on-hill video capture, ensuring the event is documented from every angle.
Athletes will have access to a wide range of high-quality content throughout the week, and a link will be shared following the event for athletes to purchase photos for personal use and portfolios.
Fingers crossed for good weather so we can capture everything at its best.
