This service project involves gathering Beta Club members to make bracelets using the materials provided by the leaders during the bracelet-making sessions hosted before and after meetings 7:35-8:05. The bracelets and keychains will be sold at Wheeler events to raise money for non-profits in our community.
Members who attend a bracelet-making session (coming before the meeting and staying after) receive 1/2 service hour (0.5 pt) p. Those who come late, make bracelets unfit for sale, or do not comply with the policies listed below will not receive full credit. There will be a sign-in sheet for you to confirm your attendance; if there is no signup sheet present, the project leader there has digitally recorded the names of those in the session.
Hours will be given to members who come on time and stay for the entire session. If you are unable to attend for the entire time with a valid reason, please inform the leadership board or the service project leaders.
Members should make quality bracelets since we are planning on selling them. This includes a good pattern, an appropriate size (ask the leader if you are unsure!), no string showing/not enough beads, double/triple tying the knot, etc.
The leader in attendance will inform if there is a certain theme for the bracelets. Otherwise, the colors and patterns are up to you!
There is enough time allotted for each session for every participant to make at least one bracelet. In the case you cannot finish constructing a bracelet, loosely tie a knot or tape it, so you or another member can complete it in the next session. There will be a separate bag for incomplete bracelets.
Near the end of the session, please clean up after yourselves before leaving the room. Leftover beads are placed back in the box with their corresponding colors, and none are on the tables or floor.
This should not apply to any Beta Club members, but just as a friendly reminder, do not take the bracelets with you.
