The interactive activity that students complete virtually can be engaging for the students and allow them time to explore the information and learn about researching topics.
Sample Tech Tool for Informal Assessment
A teacher can use a Google Form they created ahead of time to have the students fill out in class and will provide instant results for the teacher to view to gather data quickly on the individual student and whole classes understanding of the lesson. The students can quickly provide the teacher with information about the topic they are researching for their project.

A teacher can have students use a tech tool like PowerPoint or Google slides that allows students to organize their research in a culminating presentation. This final presentation will culminate all of the aspects of the students research project in one tool that the teacher can view and assess.
