The process of creating my podcast about joining the Speech and Debate team was more challenging than I expected. While I knew my story inside and out, I initially struggled to figure out how to shape it into a clear, emotional narrative. After deciding what to include and what to leave out, another significant challenge for me was making sure my voice matched the weight of the words I was saying.
My aha moment came when I decided to bold certain words in my script to remind myself where to add extra inflection. This was vital in helping me bring my story to life and emphasize the parts that mattered most. By making the recording feel more like a conversation than a performance, the process reminded me why my story matters, not just to me, but to anyone learning to speak up for who they are.
