Thank you for singing in the Chorus at William Floyd Middle School. I am so excited to make beautiful music and memories with all of you this school year. Chorus is an excellent opportunity to develop as individual musicians as well as work together as a team. High standards result in high achievement. As the director, I set the highest standards for myself and my ensemble members. Musical growth requires significant effort from everyone involved. I look forward to experiencing a wonderful year with each and everyone of you.

1. Create a well-rounded choral program focusing on musicianship.

2. Develop musical abilities as a group/individuals.

3. Continue to build your music reading skills.

4. Explore different aspects of vocal music and technique.

5. Explore different styles, eras, and composers of music.

6. Enjoy singing and expressing emotion through the use of music.

1. Respect the room, your voice, your peers, your teacher, and yourself at all times.

2. Be on time and sit in your assigned seat.

3. No food, or chewing gum in the music room.

4. No talking, unless given permission.

5. Have all required materials ready to go at the beginning of class.

6. Each class will start with a “Do Now.”

7. Each class will contain sight singing, vocal, and body warm-ups.

8. No cellphones or electronic devices are to be used unless given permission by the teacher.

9. Have fun and try your very best 100% of the time to maintain a positive attitude and creative learning environment.
