THe DofE Silver Award is a step up from bronze in so many ways - duration and terrain for the expedition being one most obvious. Our participants have to pack into their rucksack for three days and two nights of challenge and they must travel a little further away from home to explore new areas.

It is always so rewarding for the staff and our other adult volunteers to see the skills and commitment of the participants develop and we are so proud as they show new levels of maturity as they progress to complete their awards.

We have a few young people who return as adult helpers years after working on their DofE at Weydon - having gone on to complete their gold awards and then enjoying sharing their skills with our current participants. We are always so pleased to hear of their experiences and delighted to have them back in the adult team; amazing role models for our students.
