Welcome to the WHS Social Studies Department!

In your classes in Social Studies, you'll learn about all of the 'stuff' that makes human interaction possible:

• political, economic, and socio-cultural interactions that are both powerfully peacefully and horribly violent;

• scientific discoveries and how they influenced society;

• understanding how people function both within their own mind and in society;

• mathematics and the historical significance of discoveries, and

• the social, cultural, political, and economic context of the literature, artistic moments, and non-fiction readings you will do in all classes.
