We are pleased to continue the Westwood Public Schools 1:1 Computing initiative. All students in Grades 6 - 12 are issued a school-owned Google Chromebook that will be available to them at all times, whether at school or home.
Students will be able to pick up their Chromebook, case, and charger during building tours on Tuesday, August 24th. Alternate pickup times will be scheduled as needed. If none of these times work, students will receive their Chromebook from their homeroom teacher during the first few days of school.
Parents are encouraged to view this Orientation Video to better understand the goals of the program, student responsibilities, and helpful information.
Incoming 7th and 8th grade students already have Chromebooks from last year. Any grade 7 and 8 students new Thurston will be assigned a Chromebook.
Parents are asked to sign off on Westwood's Technology Contract for Students & Families as part of the annual Aspen student/parent contact verification procedure.
Students will receive training and support during the first two weeks of school to help establish a safe and productive user experience with their device.
It's also highly recommended that parents purchase insurance to protect against accidental damage. Information about insurance will be emailed to parents.
If you have any questions about the information contained on this page or the related agreements, please contact me.
