Students will use the bleeding watercolor technique, salt, and some glitter to create VALUE in several geodes. Students will COLLAGE their geodes onto a black and white zentangle background

TEd Harrison

was a British-Canadian painter noted for his colorful landscape paintings of the Yukon. Born on August 28, 1926 in Wingate, England, he studied at the West Hartlepool School of Art, where he later taught for three decades. His career took off when he relocated in 1967 from England to Northern Canada, where he was deeply inspired by the rustic landscapes of his surroundings.

PRoject 2: Ripped Value Landscape Collages

Students will use their knowledge of VALUE and LANDSPACES to create a torn paper collage of a landscape.

Project 3: Jen Aranyi Inspired landscapes.

Inspired by the work of artist Jen Aranyi, students will create imaginative landscapes with PERSPECTIVE. Students will examine and produce a landscape that shows objects diminishing in size as they are positioned back in their landscape. Students will use a bleeding watercolor technique to paint the sky, creating a tie dye affect.

Shape vs. Form

The basic difference, though, between “shape” and “form” is that “form” is in 3D while “shape” is plain 2D.

Jen stark

is a female artist living and working in Los Angeles. She uses stacked cut paper to create the depth (space) in her artwork.

Project 3 : Shape and Form Tunnel Book

Students will use construction paper. popsicle sticks, and glue to transform flat 2D cut paper into a 3D tunnel book.


Figures in action

Artist is third grade are learning how to create artwork of figures in motion. Below are two well known artist to simplify characters, and use actions lines to signify actions.

Keith Haring

Artist Keith Haring was born on May 4, 1958, in Reading, Pennsylvania. He moved to New York City in 1978 and began using the city as his canvas, making chalk drawings in subway stations. His art was eventually seen everywhere from public murals and nightclubs to galleries and museums around the world.

Mr. DOODLE

Mr. Doodle is a crazy doodler from England. He doodles walls, rooms, furniture, vehicles, buildings and anything he can get his hands on!
