A line starts with a dot. The dot goes on a walk, dragging its feet and creates a mark.

PRoject 1 : RAinbow line paintings

Students will sketch and trace 5 different lines across the page. Students will paint around the lines following the order of the rainbow

Project 2: Playground for ants line sculptures

Students will manipulate strips of paper into 3D line sculptures by pinching, pulling, and twisting the paper.

Pieter Mondrian, was a Dutch painter who used the three straight lines in many of his artworks.

Project 3: Mondrian inspired collages

Students will collage the three straight lines onto their paper. They will add color inside shapes with PRIMARY COLORS

Project 4: Model MAgic Mouse Paint Sculptures

Students will mix primary colored model magic to create the secondary colors. Students will sculpt the model magic into mice by using the clay techniques of rolling, pinching, and pulling.

Project 5: Rainbow flower

Students will use the PRIMARY colors to mix the secondary colors. Students collage an image of a flower in the order of the color wheel.

Project 6: Rainbow Shapes

In this project students connected the beginning and the end of lines together to create shapes. Students chose 6 different lines to connect to create shapes. On the second day, students painted the order of the rainbow by choosing to starting with red or starting with purple and working backwards

Project 7: Self Portrait

Students will use basic shapes to build self portraits.
