Info for Families
Most classes have art once per week for 45 minutes. First grade has art one and a half times per week, and second grade has art twice per week.
Student Work
Some student artwork will be sent home throughout the year and some student artwork will be sent home digitally through the Seesaw app/website. Artwork that stays at school will be used for class discussions and will be considered for the art show at the end of the year. All work will be sent home at the end of the year in student portfolios. Please reach out if you need help connecting to your child's portfolio on Seesaw

Talking about Artwork at Home
Whether you are thinking about writing a comment on Seesaw or looking at your child's art together in June, here are a few conversation starters...
"Can you tell me more about this project?"
"What materials did you use to make this?"
"This looks like an interesting art technique. Can you explain it to me?"
"Can you teach me how to make this?"
"What is your favorite part of this artwork?"
"Why did you choose that... (color, line, shape, animal, subject matter, technique material etc.)
"What was the most challenging part of making this?"
"What was the funnest part of making this?
"What inspired this artwork?"
"What did you learn from this project?"
