Q: How is the yearbook produced?
A: The yearbook is funded and created entirely by student journalists at Westside High School. The creation of the yearbook is a real-world student learning experience. They create the theme, design, and every item you see in the book, from start to finish. The Westside High School administration does not create any part of the yearbook, but has supplied the students with two qualified journalism advisers, a class to collaborate, and the equipment necessary for the students to create the book.
Q: I have a question and want to talk with someone. Who do I call?
A: You can call the advisers, Timothy Kaldahl or Jerred Zegelis at: 402-343-2650. They will forward your message to the appropriate student editors to contact you back.
Q: Do you order extra yearbooks?
A: No! The journalism program is fully run by the students. They order the amount of books sold before our last sales date so we don't end up with hundreds of extra yearbooks, costing the journalism program thousands of dollars.
Q: If I don't get my photo taken, will I be in the yearbook?
A: No. We don't go through previous years, find another photo online, etc., If you don't get your photo submitted, you won't be in the portraits section of the yearbook. If we don't have the photo, we can't print the photo.
Q: I don't have a photo in the portraits section of the yearbook. What can be done?
A: Contact the staff. If it's our fault, we'll refund your book and make it right by printing a special sticker for your book to fix the problem. However, if you did not submit a photo, remember that we do not use old photos or run down all our missing photos. If it was not the fault of the yearbook staff, no refund will be issued.
Q: What is the yearbook donation program?
On our yearbook sales site, there is a field to click if you would like to donate money towards providing yearbooks to students who are unable to purchase one. This is completely voluntary. Donors will be recognized in the yearbook (if they wish) on a thank-you page.
