Elements of Dance is the introductory course to dance as art learning. All levels of experience in dance can benefit from taking this course. The year is broken up into five main units of study that include but are not limited to Modern, Ballet, Choreography, and Jazz Dance forms. Weekly classes are broken up into 3 days dedicated towards the focus unit, and 2 that are dedicated to contemporary dance or health/wellness forms of movement that include Zumba and Yoga. Students will not only learn technical skills in each form, but also the Elements of Dance (Body, Space, Time, Energy, and Relationship) and how to use the elements to create and critique dance. This course requires frequent collaboration in small groups and with the whole class. Quarterly exams include a movement and written component.

Dance II: Performance Skills is the intermediate that explores the main components of what it takes to put on a successful performance. Students will complete a year long project of designing their own dance performance. Students will be tasked to complete projects about the choreography, set design, lighting, and costuming. Students who are interested can have the opportunity to have their proposals reviewed by dance professionals and be chosen to produce for the dance concert in February. Students will also engage in performing ensemble works that will tour the middle schools to promote dance. Participation in performances are a MANDATORY part of this course and count towards the student's final grade.

Advanced Dance is an Honors Course that helps students prepare for the demands of the college application process. Whether or not a student plans on pursuing performing arts in college, students will be tasked to complete all necessary items needed for a prepared conservatory audition. Students will also be responsible for presenting choreography that may be showcased in the annual dance concert. Honors students will also learn the art of teaching dance to younger students, touring the elementary and middle schools in town to teach master classes. The final project of honors will require students to put together a video dance real of all the work they have created over the course of the year.
