Orchestra

The West Orange orchestra program begins in 4th grade and continues through high school, with an emphasis on tone, musicality, and ensemble artistry.

Elementary Orchestra (Grades 4-5)
Students learn the fundamentals of violin, viola, cello, and bass, including tone production, note reading, and rhythm.

Middle School Orchestra (Grades 6-8)
A three-year sequence that builds technical skill, music literacy, and performance, preparing students for high school ensembles. Our middle schools also offer Select Strings as a co-curricular experience. 

High School Orchestra (Grades 9-12)
Multiple ensemble opportunities focused on performance, interpretation, and independent musicianship. Our high school also offers Royal Strings as a co-curricular experience.
