Tryouts:

• Tryouts will take place that first week of practice starting on April 6th.  

• Students will be divided into groups based on their grade level.  Group assignments will be communicated to the students.

• Final roster will be posted as determined by the coach.

• Students must complete a waiver to particpate.  They do not need a sports physical.

• Players should bring t-shirt, athletic bottoms (appropriate length shorts/pants), socks, sneakers student can run in.

• ALL tryouts will be held at LMS and will be from 3:00 - 4:25 pm

• LATE BUSES are at 4:30

The Intramural Program is a school-based in district program:

• Each middle school will host its own teams for sports for example: volleyball, basketball, and track.

• The three middle school teams will only compete against each other , for example Liberty vs Roosevelt, Roosevelt vs Edison, Edison vs Liberty, etc. 

• Although intramural Tryouts may occur, this format ensures more students get an opportunity to participate in school-based athletics.

• Due to the start time of the Intramural games, the town REC program will assist in providing officials, site management, and volunteers. 

• Each school will host their own intramural teams.

• No travel outside of West Orange will be required.

• No transportation to games will be provided.

Practice:

• LMS Track & Field practices Monday - Thursday. There are no weekend commitments.

• There are no practices on half days, days school is closed, and inclement weather. The team will be notified via announcement if practice is canceled.  

• Attendance is required and expected unless communicated via player or parent before the practice. 

• All athletes are REQUIRED to take the late buses home unless your parent is at LMS to pick you up.  If the late buses are about to leave and YOUR ride is not at LMS you MUST ride the late buses home.

Games: 

• Games will be scheduled in the evening versus Roosevelt Middle School and Edison Middle School
