This ink piece was inspired by tattoo artists and their wonderful craft. I looked on Pinterest for koi fish and flower tattoo inspiration and combined them to make this design. This took me about 4-5 hours to complete since the details are very intricate and I had to be very meticulous about every stroke.

These are a few sea animal doodles to practice my pen technique and shading. I looked at photos of real sea animals since I was unable to go to the beach that day. All together these roughly took 2 hours to complete. I used cross-hatching and linear hatching to shade.

These are a few colored mushroom sketches that I did with ink, marker, and colored pencil. I studied the texture of different types of mushrooms and tried to replicate them on paper. As you can see, I used a linear hatching technique to shade as well as a few dots to add texture. These took roughly 2-3 hours.

This is a poster that I illustrated for my friends' Halloween Drive-Thru Parade booth. Their theme was summer, despite the snow that covered the ground and the 30-degree weather! I created this piece digitally and drew each of my friends' favorite animals, and they loved it. I got inspiration from TV shows that I used to watch as a kid, since this parade was for students in grades K-5.

This is inspired by the story of Rebecca Mabanglo-Mayor, who is an American-born Filipino. Growing up in an all white society and as the American dream of her parents, she struggled to see the Filipino side of her. She thought of herself as white for all of her life, until she met a woman of color who taught her literature. Only then did she realize her true self.
I am planning on creating a portrait with two halves: one half is Rebecca's ethnic background dressed in Filipino traditional dress. The other half is the white side of her that has been engraved into her mind ever since she was young.
Inspiration to use:
Filipino traditional dress inspiration/ stylistic inspiration to try out
Comics and design categories. I also submitted a few editorial cartoons.
Here are some racial justice mural sketches.

Here is a coloring page created for the Colors of Care organization. Colors of Care provides coloring pages and other printable goods to hospitals, boys and girls clubs, and more, purely to entertain young minds and encourage them to embrace diversity and positivity. This specific page depicts Mae Jemison, a former NASA astronaut who was the first black woman to travel to outer space.
Using primary colors along with a bit of green, white, and black paint, I used my knowledge gained by creating color scales to paint a still life pepper. This was done by observing a real pepper in front of me. I have very little experience with acrylic painting so far, but I think that this was a pretty good attempt with room to improve.
Materials:
Blick Studio acrylic paint

This ceiling tile portrays a flying whale in a sky, with a symbol in the background. Using bright and happy colors, I hope to bring positivity to whoever sees my ceiling tile in the school.
The meaning of this ceiling tile goes beyond just a flying whale in the sky. The symbol shown in the background of the tile belongs to the Korean band BTS (Bulletproof Boy Scouts in Korean), and the idea of a whale flying in the sky is borrowed from their animated MV for “We are Bulletproof: the Eternal.” This animation music video visually shows their entire journey as a group, growing from nothing to one of the most well-known artists in the world. The lyrics of this particular song read “We are forever bulletproof,” demonstrating strength and resistance to any obstacles that interrupt their career. I hope that this ceiling tile can inspire viewers to be persistent and never let go of their goals and dreams.
