Is this exhibit Art, Science, exploitation-combination?
This exhibit is a combination of both art and science; as it takes a lot of precision and skilled to make such fine and detailed sculptures, machines, diagrams, logos, and architecture that were in the exhibit. However, the information given were scientific, therefore making the exhibit a combination of both art and science.
What disgusts you about this exhibit? What fascinates you?
Some body images and sculptures were very graphic and detailed making it almost sick to watch. However, I appreciated and fascinated in the amount of detail, time, and precision it took to make work. I always wanted to be a nurse so looking at the human structure in fine upclose detail fascinated me.
What educates you?
I learn better visually/ have my take (perspective), so I usually rarely bother to try reading the explanations given. I learned the bone and muscle structure and how certain muscles in your body allows you do everyday movements/ actions.
In this field trip students created beautiful glass pieces by heating up small pieces of glass (in the color of your choosing) and melting them to be able to mold and shape the glass into certain figures and shapes. To maintain symmetry throughout the piece students spun the glass on a rod so the glass would not be cooled down in one way/ position.
Authentic teaching and learning: Go out and explore-- Artists are curious, hands-on and reflective
I did researched and also visited a museum in Korea that held onto some of Salvador Dali’s
Art pieces. I feel like his art concepts and look/ vibe are similar to mine. We both do creepy, mysterious, and almost strange/ comfortable art pieces (surrealism).

Who is the artist?
I have the most knowledge and favor Salvador Dali the most.
How do you describe their work?
Salvador Dali’s art concepts and look/ vibe are similar to mine. We both do creepy, mysterious, and almost strange/ comfortable art pieces (surrealism). EX: melting clocks and strange colors.
What about the process do you like or dislike?
The process of Salvador Dali’s work is similar to mine in that it is traditional, so therefore I like it.
If you were interviewing the artist, what questions would you ask them?
What and who inspired you while growing up being an artist?
Why did you choose art as your path?
Was choosing art risky for you?
Favorite art piece (theirs and outside)?
How does this artist inform your work/process/themes?
Salvador Dali had a common theme/ style of surrealism in his art. They were usually weird, confusing, strange, creepy, and realistic. He is most well known for his paintings and crazy facial expressions.
Please reflect one how an artist can change the view on a space or place. What did these Native American artists do to make a positive change in their community?
An Artist can change the view on a space or place by creating art that throws off the current mood and feel of the location. Color has a huge factor in mood and feel in art. Art with meaning allows people to reflect on the art, and appreciate the art rather more than the place. Art can distract its surroundings or can help build its surroundings. Art can be a way of expressing / protesting to people in a certain location (source of attraction/ spread awareness), and that is exactly what the "Native American Street Artist" did . They used the beauty of art to distract the brokenness that happen within the community (specifically all the crimes and brokenness that took place on the Indian Alley), and focus on the beauty of Indian pride, traditions, culture, and awareness.
What would you do in your community?
I believe the Weston community is divided (social class, racial, and gender ) and needs to spread awareness of this current issue. As a solution I believe creating a mural showing the beauty of community through the power of unity of people with different backgrounds, culture, traditions, onions, skin tone, social class, and education. However, as a personal assignment I am currently working on a project to raise money to fund the students at my Taekwondo studio to be able to compete at nationals. I am doing this by spreading awareness through an article on the Weston paper.
