Understanding Whanaungatanga through Pepeha
Learning Objective: Students will learn the significance of pepeha as a tool for building connections and understanding Whanaungatanga.
Activities:
Introduction to Pepeha: Explore the structure of pepeha and its cultural importance. Students will share their own pepeha with the class.
Group Discussion: Discuss how Whanaungatanga can be reflected through pepeha and the connections it fosters.

Learning Objective: Students will understand what Whanaungatanga looks like, sounds like, and feels like in their Whānau class.
Activities:
Unpacking the Value of Whanaungatanga: Using a Y-chart, students will discuss and record what Whanaungatanga looks like, sounds like, and feels like in the classroom. Display the Y-chart next to the Whanaungatanga poster and refer to it regularly.
Team Reflection: In small groups, students will reflect on their understanding of Whanaungatanga and how they can contribute to building stronger connections.
