• Disrupted circadian rhythms: Standard Time shifts light exposure, which directly impacts sleep patterns, mood stability, and emotional regulation. 

• Sensory Overload & Anticipation: Holiday preparation, travel, and schedule disruptions heighten anxiety, manifesting as meltdowns, hyperactivity, or withdrawal.

I am excited to join the Westlake Charter School Family and Community. My name is Dr. Young and I will be WCS/WCHS new BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst). This is my 13 year in education. From my early years as an educator, I learned that meaningful strength that comes from parent and teacher relationships. I recently moved to California from Washington, DC. I have had the amazing opportunity to live in 5 states and DC. Through my travel across the US, I have seen the amazing power that comes from collaboration. It is my hope to bring a servant's heart to Westlake Charter School and make this community home.
