Barony of Selviergard

The Barony of unparalleled natural beauty.

Nestled in the scenic Matanuska-Susitna Valley located in the Principality of Oertha (Alaska), the Barony of is situated between the Barony of Winter's Gate to the North and the Barony of Eskalya to the South. The Barony occupies the region of Alaska north of Eagle River to just south of Denali and to the East as far as Valdez.

Honoring the arts and sciences.

Skilled artisans from across the Barony strive to recreate the crafts and skills of the Old World.  Weekly gatherings or classes are held to share their skills.

A strong marshallate tradition.

The Barony of is home to mighty northern warriors ready to take up arms in defense of home and kingdom. Occassionally, we raid our neighbors when times are lean or just for the fun of it.

Words from their Excellencies

One and all shall know that We, Colum Baron of Selviergard, Tyrant of the Eagle River, Sultan of Susitna and Vicana Baroness of Selviergard, Sultana of Valdez, Servants of the Crown of the West, do send Greetings unto All to whom these words appear before.

The Barony of Silviergard is a Chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism. Our members study and recreate aspects of the Middle Ages and Renaissance. The idea for the SCA began with a Grand Tournament on May 1st, 1966 in Berkeley, California. We explore all things of the era blacksmithing, stained glass, sword fighting, brewing, archery, costuming, alchemy, jewelry making & metal casting, banner painting, weaving, calligraphy, illumination and so much more.

If you are interested in exploring the middle ages with us the best place to start is our Facebook group ( the link is on this page) and coming out to a weekly fighter practice (Wonderland Park, Wasilla) where we try to hone our combat skills or our weekly Our Arts& Sciences meet at MJ’s Cards and Games (Bogard in the business center behind Little Millers) where we teach and learn the period arts. Fighter practice, A&S Classes and various events are where we socialize with our friends and explore the Current Middle Ages. All are welcome We encouraged you to join us at any of these activities.

Yours in Service to the

People & The Crown
