Perfectly Period Feasts (PPF) arose out of an interest in exploring food service that was as well researched as the highly authentic dishes that the cooks were creating. The events incorporate material culture and behavioral culture with food culture.Past PPF events have focused on fourteenth century Italy, fifteenth century Burgundy, fifteenth century England, sixteenth century Spain, and sixteenth century Germany. The "Perfectly" is a bit tongue in cheek according to some because all efforts require compromise. None the less many participants use the word as an aspirational goal. For 2020, the Principality of Oertha had planned on holding a Plausibly Period Feast focused on an earlier era. The organizers felt that Plausible was a more realistic standard relative to the research resources availble for that era and location.
In addition to the several feasts produced in the West, other Kingdoms have picked up the movement and created their own versions.
