The Teaching Center will provide funding for programs and training sponsored by the building leadership teams. Any teacher or group of teachers can apply through their leadership teams for a portion of the total amount allocated:
West Genesee High School - $1200
West Genesee Middle, Camillus Middle School, Stonehedge Elementary Schools - $800 each
East Hill, Onondaga Road, and Split Rock Elementary Schools - $400 each
Holy Family and Bishop Ludden - $400 each
Funding can be used for materials, speakers, refreshments, participant stipends, conference registrations, building subscriptions, and/or travel expenses.
Any proposal must adhere to West Genesee Strategic Planning Foci:
C&I: Following the timelines established in the WG Continuous Curriculum Improvement Cycle, guaranteed and viable curriculum, aligned to NYS Standards and WG Essential Standards, will be written, revised and evaluated utilizing the unit plan template.
DEI: By June 2026, increase the participation rates of underrepresented groups (students with disabilities, economically disadvantaged students, and non-white students) in both academically advanced classes as well as extracurricular activities by 10%.
SEL: By June 2024 All WG Schools will establish Guiding Coalitions that support an MTSS framework focusing on instructional schedules that support PLCs. All buildings will develop an RTI/MTSS “triangle” that identifies tiered support encompassing Academics, Behaviors, and SEL. Buildings will develop SMART Goals to monitor their progress and will align Professional learning to their SMART goals.
