Steps & Requirements of the Freshman Election Process (ALL ARE MANDATORY AND THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS)
Read the Constitution with position descriptions and responsibilities. This will contain all necessary information you will need to make an informed decision about what position interests you most.
General Overview Meeting: Monday, September 15th at 7:25am in the Lecture Hall
You must attend this 30 minute meeting to submit a Letter of Intent Form
This meeting will review all parts of Student Government and roles, as well as the responsibilities and expectations for these elected positions
Letter of Intent: Due by Tuesday, September 16th at 5pm
After attending the General Overview Meeting, you will receive a Google Form in your email to submit your Letter of Intent
The Faculty Advisors will review all submitted documents
Speeches: Due by Friday, September 19th at 2:30pm
After submitting your Letter of Intent, you will receive a Google Form in your email to submit your speech
Please read the guidelines for speeches before writing your speech (all speeches will be reviewed by the Faculty Advisors)
This is the speech you will give in front of your class at the election and it must be under 1 minute
Election Preparation Meeting: Monday, September 22nd at 7:25am in the Lecture Hall
All candidates must attend this brief mandatory meeting to review the election process
FAILURE TO ATTEND will result in the removal of your name from the election ballot
Campaigning can begin AFTER ATTENDING this meeting (all campaigning material must be approved by a Faculty Advisor)
Elections: Wednesday, September 24th during Advisory
Candidates will read their submitted speech to their respective class in the PAC
Voting will take place for each grade on a google form, and the results will be announced before the end of the school day
