About Me

I'm Ms. Poirier and I am starting my 21st year teaching fourth grade at the Day School. 

My favorite subject to teach is math.  When I was in fourth grade, I struggled with math; I hated it!  But I had some really great teachers who helped me learn to love it.  That is why I love to teach it now. I want to help those strugglers be successful. My second favorite subject to teach is social studies.  I love anything related to history and culture! 

I am also a mom of 2 kids.  My daughter, Madeleine, is beginning her freshman year at American University in Washington, D.C.  My son, William, is starting his senior year (12th grade) at Westford Academy.  Both went to Miller, Day School, and then Stony Brook.  We spend a lot of our time together at swim meets and sporting events!

I love to spend my free time hiking with my almost 5-year-old Golden Irish puppy, Kingsley. Does anyone want to guess who he is named after? I also love to head to the family lake house where I can kayak in the morning and read on the dock!
