A: It is the belief of the Westfield Public School District that the solution is most likely found in consultation with those closest to the source. Therefore, Policy 9130 (Public Complaints and Grievances) directs that the chain of command be followed when expressing a concern, first by contacting your child’s teacher and, if not resolved, the principal before reaching out to the superintendent. Adhering to the chain of command is the district's standard policy and practice in order to ensure any problems are addressed at the most local level as possible.
