Students extend their understanding of linear, quadratic, radical, and exponential functions, introduced in previous courses, to the study of polynomial, rational, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions. Mathematical modeling is used to represent real-world situations and solve problems. Statistical techniques are employed to analyze linear models and one-variable data sets including normal distributions. The interdisciplinary nature of mathematics is emphasized by applications to science and technology. Topics are covered in depth, with a focus on theoretical foundations.
Graphing calculators from the TI-83/84 family are required.
