Classroom Rules

1. Follow directions the first time they are given.
2. Please raise your hand and wait for permission to speak.
3. Have all appropriate materials and supplies at your assigned desk and be seated immediately after entering the classroom.
4. Respect the equipment and furnishings of our classroom.
5. No cursing or teasing.

Rewards

• Praise (daily)
• Positive notes to students and send home to parents (random)\
• Positive phone calls home (random)
• The joy of learning (each day of the school year)

If You Choose to Break a Rule

First Time: Verbal Warning.

Second Time: Change of seat for the remainder of the period.

Third Time: Conference with student immediately after class.

Fourth Time: 30 minutes after school and parents called.

Fifth Time: 60 minutes after school, parents called, referral written, and student sent to the office.

Severe disruptions: Students sent immediately to the office, parents called, and referral written.

Electronic Media and Communication Device Policy

Any electronic media and communication device (cell phones, I-pods, etc.) are not permitted in Mrs. Messinger’s classroom. If a device is being used or a ring tone disrupts class, the device will be confiscated, parents will be notified, and the student will have to pick up the device in the assistant principal’s office. There will be no verbal warning on this policy!
