Mr. Borja graduated from Kean University with a degree in Elementary Education in 2003. This will be his 23rd year teaching in Westfield, and tenth year at Washington School! So far, he has taught nine years of 5th grade, four years of 4th grade and nine years of 3rd. He is beyond excited to be back teaching 5th grade at Washington School this year!
Mr. Borja is the oldest child in a family of six! He has 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Mr. Borja has been married to Mrs. Borja (who teaches 3rd grade at Washington school) for 14 years. They have 2 daughters (Alexandra & Katelyn) and a son (Anthony)! He currently lives in Scotch Plains, NJ with his family.
Mr. Borja loves to do many different things. One of the things he loves most is spending time with his family. Mr. Borja and his family often take trips to the park, zoo, pool and beach. Mr. Borja also loves reading with his daughters, watching Marvel movies with them and especially playing with them outside on the trampoline and in their treehouse. When Mr. Borja isn't with his family, he enjoys playing golf, volleyball and soccer. Mr. Borja's second love (after teaching) is photography. He actually has his own photography and cinematography business. Guess who he spends the most time taking pictures and video of!? That's right....his family!
Mr. Borja loves to read. He considers himself an eclectic reader. He enjoys children books, history, mystery, fantasy and science fiction. He also enjoys reading various newspapers and magazines (digital and print) Some of his favorite books are: Running out of Time, Charlotte's Web, Because of Winn-Dixie, Things Not Seen, Hatchet, Walk Two Moons, Chronicles of Narnia, Percy Jackson, The Giver, and Island of the Blue Dolphins....just to name a few!
