In our classroom, I strongly believe in instilling a sense of responsibility and independence in our upper elementary students. As 3rd graders, it is important for students to take ownership of their learning and daily routines. I encourage students to take responsibility for their organization by keeping track of their assignments, materials, and deadlines. Through establishing consistent routines and expectations, students learn the importance of being prepared and ready to engage in their learning.
Homework assignments should take approximately 30-45 minutes per night and will include mathematics, spelling, and independent reading daily. If a child consistently has a difficult time finishing assignments, parents or students are encouraged to call or meet with me for support.
Homework is assigned Monday-Thursday and is due the following day unless stated otherwise. It is your child's responsibility to bring their homework to school each day. Please help your student be responsible by having them place homework in the "Bring Back" side of their Take Home folders to be brought to and from school each day. Repeated missing homework assignments will result in parent contact.
All 3S homework assignments are posted daily on our google classroom homepage.
