Monday, February 27 - First Official Day of Practice
February 27th - March 3rd - Track & Field Tryouts
You MUST be registered on Final Forms and have everything (with the exception of the athletic fee) "GREEN" to tryout (physical, forms signed by parent, & forms signed by student).
Making the team is based on attendance, attitude, accountability, citizenship, effort, and ability.
We plan on having our official and final roster by March 10th. At this point, you are either in or you're out. We will not be adding individuals to the roster after this date.
If you are still competing in a Winter sport, you are exempt from some of the items listed above. Please communicate to us your intentions. We encourage all Winter athletes to take at least one week off after the completion of your season.
Winter Conditioning
Official Winter Conditioning for the 2022 Warhawk Track & Field Season will begin Monday, January 10th. This is designed for athletes who are planning on running track, and are not participating in a Winter Sport.
There may be additional training opportunities for athletes before this date, but these will be set up by the individual event coaches (jumps/sprints, distance, & throws).
Athletes who wish to participate in Winter conditioning must be registered in Final Forms and have an up to date physical on file with the athletic department (ALL icons must be GREEN except the "$" icon.)
Indoor Track & Field
Indoor Track & Field is not an official sport governed by the OHSAA. There are no coaching contracts for indoor track & field, and coaches volunteer their time to assist athletes with training and who may have an interest in competing in indoor meets.
Our Boys' Track Team will pick 2-3 meets to compete in as a team (our T&F Boosters will pay for these meets), but anything above and beyond that will be up to each individual athlete and their families. Our coaching staff can assist in registering athletes for indoor meets if needed.
Athletes who wish to compete in indoor meets for Westerville Central must be registered in Final Forms and have an up to date physical on file with the athletic department (ALL icons must be GREEN except the "$" icon.)
