Boys Head Coach Jason Loughman (boys distance)
Head coach Jason Loughman has coached Track & Field and Cross Country at Westerville Central since the school originated in the Fall of 2003. Loughman, originally from Mansfield, Ohio ran track and cross country for Mansfield Sr. High School where he earned All-Conference and All-District honors as a distance runner.
Loughman is a graduate of Otterbein University where he competed in Track & Field and Cross Country all four years while earning his Bachelor of Science Degree in Life Sciences. While at Otterbein, Loughman earned All-Conference honors in both track and cross country and was also a member of the 94′ Cardinal team that placed 7th in the Nation at the NCAA Div. III Cross Country National Championships.
Loughman earned his Masters Degree in Education with a focus in Sports Sciences and Sports Management from Ashland University as well as earning a Masters Degree in School Leadership from Concordia University. Loughman has had the honor and privilege of coaching numerous All-Conference and All-District runners, Regional and State meet qualifiers, as well as multiple All-Ohio athletes during his career at Westerville Central High School. Central's boys team hailed as Conference champions in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015 and were the Regional Runners-Up in 2014. Loughman has also coached two teams that finished in the top ten at the OHSAA State Meet (2007 and 2009).
Assistant Coach Khalil Ali (boys sprints, relays, long jump)
Originally from Mansfield, Ohio coach Ali started coaching high school sports in 1981. Coach Ali was a coach and father figure for Mansfield Sr. High School athletes for many years. He has coached football, basketball, cross country, and track & field.
Coach Ali came to Westerville Central from 2006 to 2009. I went back to Mansfield as the head track coach until I retired and moved to Westerville in 2015 where I currently serve as the boys sprint and relay coach, cross country strength coach and Heritage Middles School 7th grade boys basketball coach.

I'm from Sidney Ohio and a graduate of Ohio State with a B.S. Ed. in Sport Industry and currently working through a B.S. in Computer Science and Engineering. In high school I was awarded Most Valuable Player in field events and Most Improved awards and held the indoor school record for the pole vault. I've been coaching at Central since 2012 and during that time we've set the top 3 Men's heights in school history and 7 out of the top 10 and set a selection of the Women's top 10 heights. We've also sent 2 men and 1 woman to the state meet for a total of 4 visits since 2012.
