The purpose of this project is to develop language-learning skills by exploring global events and stories from the Spanish-speaking world. For project ideas, you'll explore units from interactive textbooks with a focus on narrative stories and cultural events from various countries around the globe.
You will then develop a presentation related to your global events and stories. Your presentation will include a short overview of the unit, an outline of specific cultural products, practices, and perspectives, comparisons to your language and career, a critique of the unit, a learning reflection, and a list of materials and resources to be shared with the class.
You will use the Spanish language skills of giving descriptions, presenting information, using past and present verb tenses, making comparisons, and responding to others. These skills will help you describe your text, the culture(s) you explore, and various cultural products, practices, and perspectives. You’ll also make connections and comparisons using the Spanish language. At the end of your presentation, you’ll reflect on your learning and how you developed your skills throughout the project.
