 About Sultan Agung

Sultan Agung is a biographical film about Sultan Agung, the third Sultan of the Mataram Sultanate who ruled from 1613 until 1645. While being set in the 17th century, the film depicts many aspects of the Majapahit era, including cultural and artistic practices of the time. The film focuses on Javanese court culture and the rich creative traditions prevalent throughout the Majapahit era. The film depicts Majapahit culture through royal clothing and jewels, architecture, and the use of the Kompang musical instrument. The film also displays wayang kulit, a traditional Indonesian puppet theater originated during the Majapahit era.
