Welcome Back Everyone! Westbrook High School's Newspaper Issue 39 Fall 2024
We welcome new faculty members to WHS this fall.
Mr. Hickey
Hailing from Bridgeport Public Schools and the former head coach of the boys basketball team at Norwalk High School, WHS welcomes an experienced all around member of our faculty in Mr. Hickey. Mr. Hickey is the newest member of our Social Studies department. Courses he will be teaching are Civics, Introduction to Psychology, and Law in Room 209.
Mr. Hickey grew up in West Hartford and attended Northwest Catholic High School. From there, he furthered his education as a History major at Assumption College, where he was captain of the club volleyball team, a member of an acapella group. After college, he received his masters in secondary education from Sacred Heart University.
Mr. Hickey resides in Niantic with his wife Heather and son Seaghan.
For those sports enthusiasts, you will love to know that Mr. Hickey has quite the athletic resume as well! He began his coaching career at Notre Dame high School in Fairfield; from there he was the Assistant Men's coach at Albertus Magnus College in New Haven where the team won a GNAC Championship. After coaching at the collegiate level, Mr. Hickey went back to the high school level as the associate head coach at Fairfield Prep. The past three years, he served as the head boys basketball coach at Norwalk High School. Mr. Hickey adds "I am extremely excited to be joining the boys basketball staff here at Westbrook High School. Go Knights!"
Fun fact! Mr. Hickey is a HUGE sports fan, especially the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics & UConn Basketball & Football
Be sure to stop in room 209 and say hello!
Technically not new to WHS, as she was a substitute for AP Physics and AP Biology last school year. Ms. Signorelli will be returning full time as our Robotics, Physics, Marine Biology and Science Skills for Juniors! Welcome back!

Senior Sunrise!
On the morning of the first day of school, our seniors gathered at the Westbrook Town Beach to commemorate their first day of senior year. Back at school, they painted the rock in honor of the senior class. The seniors would like to thank all that attended and the generous donation of the donuts from the Fineza Family! The seniors would also like to give a special thanks to the support of Ms. Winch for this event, they couldn't have done it without her!
