Last year's record: 6-7-1 and a berth in the state tournament
This is the fourth year Derek Hanssen is at the helm and second year the brothers Hanssen will be coaching together.
This is an exciting season with many new players. We are looking forward to building new relationships, improving our skills and competing hard every game. As we build a Westbrook soccer family we are excited to compete at the highest levels of soccer in the state within the shoreline conference. So far the boys are 2-0 to start the season!

Last fall, our girls soccer team concluded their season with a 6-9-1 record and made the state tournament. The girls are looking to make the tournament once again and have started the season with a victory vs. Wheeler. Captain Giovanna "G" Silva added "We are looking forward to our tough games where we will have the chance to compete as our roster is filled with many underclassman." Captain Giovanna Silva. Football Co-op with Old Saybrook and Morgan
The Morgan/Old Saybrook/Westbrook co-op football team is ready and excited for its next chapter as it welcomes Casey Trasacco to the gridiron as its new head coach. Casey began coaching high school football in 2014 at Danbury High School, where he originally served as the assistant coach and then later as the varsity offensive coordinator.
“After those couple of years, in 2017 I accepted a job at Southern Connecticut State University as the assistant wide receivers coach and offensive quality control coach,” Casey says. “I was there for two seasons, and in the summer of 2019, I took a job as the visual coordinator at Yale University for one season. In 2021, I became special teams quality control coach and assistant outside linebackers coach. I took a year off from coaching and volunteered at Yale when I had time. Last year, I was the defensive coordinator at Foran High School.”
Casey is assisted by Pat Dougherty, Jimmy Lewis (head junior varsity coach, offensive and defensive line coach), John Harkins (assistant offensive and defensive line coach), and Alex Trasacco (defensive assistant and defensive backs coach). This will be the second year as a co-op last season ended with a 6-5 record. This is great coaching experience for our co-op this fall, welcome coach and good luck to the team!
The team has their home opener this Friday at home vs. Valley.

4th year as co-op with Old Lyme
Last fall, the team completed their season with final record 8-7-2-1. This will be the 35th year Janet Dickey will be leading our co-op. She adds, "Looking forward to an exciting season. We have a great team led by Captains Bella Ziegler (Lyme Od Lyme) Selina Erekson and Eimy Novello."
Cheer Squad Co-op with Old Saybrook and Morgan Head Coach Tina Merrercola.
The squad will be supporting the football co-op this fall at all games.
Unified Sports once again will be taking on the Shoreline by storm!! The team will be stacked with some MVPS and All Stars for sure.
