The purpose of this reflection is to support your audience’s understanding of your approach to learning and engagement during your years at Westbrook High School, including your overall progress, learning challenges, strengths, acknowledgements, and future plans.

Now that you have completed your portfolio, reflect on your time at Westbrook High School and your development as an individual.

The Summative Personal Reflection should be approximately 2 pages, double-spaced.

Keep in mind that this should be a unified and coherent essay that introduces you to your audience. Use the questions below to help you generate some ideas. You do not need to answer all of the questions, nor should you list answers without any kind of organization. Choose a few questions that bring forth your most meaningful responses. You may be as creative as you wish.

  1. Of what personal accomplishment(s) are you most proud?
  2. If you had the chance to do anything over again or to change some part of your experience, what might it be? Why?
  3. How has your experience at W.H.S. impacted your post-high school plans? And how do you see your skills translating into life after W.H.S.?
  4. During your four years in high school, what individual(s) (teachers, students, administrators, etc.) have influenced you to become the person that you are? In what ways have they influenced you?
  5. What are some challenges that you confronted as a student? How did you overcome these challenges? Did you learn anything about yourself in overcoming these challenges?
  6. In what ways did you develop any unique talents and skills? How will you use these talents/skills as you leave high school?
  7. Is there something important about you that people should know in order to understand your personal development during your years at Westbrook High School?
