The purpose of this reflection is to support your audience’s understanding of how your provided evidence is representative of the gains you have made in academics, creativity, and wellness during your years at Westbrook High School.

The Section II Reflection should be approximately 2 pages, double-spaced.

Use the following prompts to help you organize this reflection into three sections: introduction, body, and conclusion. Avoid covering the same content as in your personal reflections:

  • Introduction: Use the following prompt to describe your growth as a student.
    • How is your portfolio a representation of your development across the range of academic expectations and your years at Westbrook High School?
    • By looking at your portfolio, what will the reader discover about your academic skill development?
  • Body: Use the following prompts to justify your choices of evidence. Be sure to specifically reference grade level, score, and teacher comments when you discuss your work.
    • What disciplines and/or types of assignments are most frequently represented in your portfolio? How is this a representation of your academic skills and interests?
    • Of which piece(s) of evidence are you most proud of? Why?
    • Specifically reference several pieces of evidence that reflect growth in one or more skill areas.
  • Conclusion: Use the following prompts to reflect upon your current understanding of yourself as a learner.
    • What does the work in your portfolio demonstrate about your learning style?
    • What does your portfolio reveal about specific skill areas of strength and those that still need improvement? What are your plans to improve upon these skills?
