A pandemic is called when a pathogen or disease is spread over several continents and countries and affects a large number of people. This is dangerous because a pandemic can flood our global health care systems, which in turn can lead to untreated individuals. During a pandemic, it is important to try to gain control of the pathogen by developing a vaccine and a cure and slowing down the spread of the disease. Slowing the spread of disease and slowing the rate of transmission is often referred to as flattening the curve!

You will look at data from COVID-19 spread in the United States in 2020, as well as data from hospitals (in terms of ability to treat disease) during the same time frame. Through analyzing this data, you will write a scientific article on why, in March 2020, epidemiologists were scrambling to flatten the curve.

Before you begin writing, you must brainstorm your writing and come up with an outline. In this assignment, you are writing a scientific article about the research question:
Is flattening the curve in the United States during the March 2020 COVID-19 spread essential?
After you brainstorm, you need to complete your scientific writing. In this assignment, you should write an article on whether slowing the spread of the COVID-19 virus in March of 2020 was an essential move.
Do not forget to include a title, and make sure your graphics are formatted into your scientific article appropriately.
When you are finished writing, it is important you have someone else look it over for errors. You can immeditly become discredited if you publish something and it is loaded with errors.
After it is done being revised, you should go through the feedback and determine what you can change.
