During this chat, you will be meeting your mentor teacher and introduced to your mentor group.
Mentoring
I know who my mentor is and can explain the purpose of the mentoring group.
Mentor: a teacher at Eagle Academy that supports & encourages students to manage their own learning in order to maximize student potential. This person is your go-to person for questions or needs.
Mentee: a student at Eagle Academy who owns their learning through goal setting, time management, and self-advocating. They contribute to the group through participating in activities the mentor provides.
Mentor Group: a collection of 15-20 students and 1 teacher who encourage each other, support one another, and do this work together.

Identify supports that can help me with my journey to graduation
Lesson 1: Getting to know my mentor
Open the document: "Getting to know my mentor" and interview one another.
Directions for this task:
Click on the document, "Getting to know my mentor interview form"
Make a copy: File > Make a copy
Name it and organize it where you want it (Create a folder called Student Onboarding)
Click "Okay"
Meet with your mentor and ask/answer questions. Record responses
Submit to Slate-- Task Dashboard

Meet with your group and your mentor will have you choose an activity for your group to learn who you are and learn who everyone else is! 😎
2 Truths; 1 Lie
Take turns being it. The it person shares 2 truths and 1 lie about themselves. The others need to figure out which one is the lie.
