Welcome! This studio will explore a topic that has become a major part of modern culture—video games. Video games are no longer only a form of entertainment for kids; they have evolved into a multi-billion-dollar industry with a wide-reaching influence on art, storytelling, technology, and even education. In this studio, we’ll explore the world of video games from different perspectives: their history, genres, and impact on society.
Whether you play video games or not, understanding their role in shaping culture today is important, as they influence how we communicate, learn, and solve problems. By the end of the studio, you’ll have a better understanding of how video games have become a significant medium and will finish doing your research on the subject. Enjoy!

Using this studio as inspiration, write an argumentative essay based on video games or eSports. Feel free to be creative about your research and argument and have fun with it. You will be utilizing the Argument Outline provided for you at the end of this studio.
Here are some suggested arguments (but feel free to think of your own):
Are video games beneficial or are they bad news?
Is Fortnite addictive or just plain fun?
Do video games cause violent behavior?
Does watching anime give you the same benefits as reading a good book?
Should eSports be included in the next Olympics?
If you have another idea, discuss it with your mentor or ELA Specialist.
Instead of typing an essay, another argument option is the One-Pager - You also have the option to do a "One-Pager" instead of a formal argumentative paper.
