TIPS FOR A GREAT EXPERIENCE
Know your topic! Much of the fear of presenting is being afraid you will make a mistake. Keep in mind that you know your topic, YOU wrote every part of it!
Practice out loud! Hearing yourself talk will make you feel more confident and see any problem areas within your project.
Thou Shalt Not Read Thy Speech!
Think about impression management! The way you dress does influence your level of confidence. This is excellent practice for a job interview - so look your best.
Focus on getting through first 3 minutes! Concentrate on a good intro and settling into telling your story (memoir), the rest will fall into place.
Breathe! When people are afraid, they begin to breathe in short, fast breaths. Before you speak, take a few slow, deep breaths.
Get enthusiastic... and smile! If you aren't excited about your presentation, no one else will be. This is a wonderful accomplishment and your panel is on your side.
