First...

...search for an article or TED talk about the topic of love or relationships. Get approval from your teacher.

Second...

....read the article or watch the video several times and take Cornell-style notes. Get enough information to be able to completely summarize it for other students.

Third...

...create a Power Point Presentation that includes a brief, yet comprehensive summary of the main points of the article or talk. You might agree or disagree with the author, so feel free to challenge their content. Develop 2-3 discussion questions that the other students in your group can talk about in relation to your article/talk and relationships and love in general.

Fourth...

....schedule a time to hold a discussion. You must work with your teacher and other students in order to do this. Review the ELA 3 competency continuum.

Fifth...

....on the designated day and time, come to the discussion group prepared to develop norms, present information, ask questions, answer questions, and discuss the topic of love and relationships. Bring notes from other talks and articles that you have read in order to be able to draw on additional sources in your discussion.
