All Materials Due by May 1st
The process for producing and/or acquiring accessible textbooks and materials can be time consuming. The following information is intended to support TVI's when planning orders on behalf of their students. Please note the timelines for braille production, and be aware that orders placed after May 1st are not guaranteed for the beginning of the school year.
Required for New Braille Books Submissions:
An order placed in KLAS
A detailed timeline made in collaboration with homeroom or subject matter teacher: Link to Timeline Form
A physical copy or high quality PDF of the textbook submitted to OTMC.
Production will begin when all 3 have been received - we are unable to produce braille without a timeline.
On Shelf: 1-2 weeks
Braille (no graphics): 6-10 weeks Timeline Form Required, Packing Slip Required
Braille (w/ graphics): 8-10 weeks Timeline Form Required, Packing Slip Required
On Shelf: 1- 2 weeks
New Title(made by OTMC): 2 -4 weeks Packing Slip Required
New Title(purchased from vendor): 4-6 weeks
On shelf: 1-2 days
New title: 1 week after print copy received by OTMC Packing Slip Required
