Bully Prevention Lessons

At Sunnyslope Elementary we use the Second Step Bully Prevention materials from Committee for Children. What is Bullying? Bullying is unfair and one-sided, it's one person/group being mean and on purpose over and over again and the person that it's happening to can't get it to stop.

En Sunnyslope Elementary utilizamos los materiales de Second Step Bully Prevention del Comité para Niños. Que es el Bullying (el Acoso)? Bullying es cuando una persona o un grupo es malo aproposito, y pasa vez traz vez y la otra persona no es mala en respuesta y no puede hacer que el Bullying pare.

The Second Step program teaches children important skills for getting along with others and doing well in school. It also helps our school be a safe, respectful place where everyone can learn. To further help our school be a safe and respectful place, we are also going to use the Second Step Bullying Prevention Unit. In the lessons, your child will learn specific skills to help stop bullying. Students will learn how to: • Recognize when bullying is happening • Report bullying to a caring adult • Refuse to let bullying happen to themselves or others • Be a bystander who stands up and is part of the solution to bullying

El programa Second Step enseña a los niños habilidades importantes para llevarse bien con los demás y tener éxito en la escuela. También ayuda a que nuestra escuela sea un lugar seguro y en el que todos se respeten y todos puedan aprender. Para ayudar más a que nuestra escuela sea un lugar seguro en el que todos se respetan, también vamos a usar la unidad de Second Step Prevención del Bullying. En las lecciones, su niño o niña aprenderá habilidades específicas que le ayudarán a detener el bullying. Los estudiantes aprenderán a: reconocer cuándo ocurre un caso de bullying. •reportar el bullying a un adulto que se preocupe por ellos. •rechazar que alguien les haga bullying a ellos mismos o a otros. • ser un testigo que actúa para participar en la solución del bullying.
