He has played the flute for various ensembles and arts organisations in Wellington and around the country, including Orchestra Wellington, NZ Ballet, NZ Opera, and the NZ International Film Festival, as well as being a member of the Royal New Zealand Air Force Band. He's a software developer by day and has started to learn the oboe. He hopes to have is oboe debut with Footlights some time soon!
Percussion
Callum is no stranger to musical theatre pit orchestras or to Wellington Footlights. Next year Callum will complete his BMus at the New Zealand School of Music. Prior to his university studies, he played in the National Youth and Secondary School Brass bands. You may see Callum performing with several local bands in the area.
Woodwinds
Natalie has been involved in musical theatre from a young age. Although playing multiple instruments in this show, she is better known as a composer. She has been sporadically involved with the Wellington Footlights Society since 2015, and has really enjoyed this experience. She would like to thank Michael Stebbings for the use of his Tenor Saxophone.
Keyboards
Company is Craig’s second musical, coming to Wellington Footlights off a production of Mamma Mia! at the Wainuiomata Little Theatre. When Craig isn’t playing keys in the theatre, he’s playing keys in the dance studio. For the last 25 years, Craig has served as a répétiteur accompanist for the NZ School of Dance.
Trumpet
One day when Nick was little he picked up his father’s cornet and decided to teach himself to play. He was hooked and has been playing cornet and trumpet ever since. Nick spends 90 percent of his spare time at various band practices and is principal cornet for the Trust Porirua City Brass Band. Company is Nick’s second Footlights show and he is excited to be back in the theatre with this crazy bunch of people!
Flugel Horn
Letitia is a legend who is playing both an instrument in the band and a character in the show. We appreciate her and her variety of talents.
Bass
Jevon is thrilled to be part of the Company band, playing electric bass in her third ever musical. Originally a self-taught guitarist and drummer, she fell in love with the bass and hasn’t looked back. This year she has played in Hutt City’s performance of Little Shop of Horrors, and Wellington Repertory's performance of First Date, and loved them both!! She can definitely read music and stay in time, and has never messed up a bass solo during a pivotal and emotional scene.
