A WORD FROM THE DIRECTOR

I am thrilled to be sharing this production of 35mm with the Wellington Theatre Community.  This show has been a favorite of mine for many years and to now be directing a show that inspired me to pursue theatre in the first place is such an amazing opportunity. I am grateful to have found such a kind and supportive whānau in The Wellington Footlights and I couldn't think of a better group of people to be working with on this production.

As a photographer myself, I love the ways in which Ryan Scott Oliver uses this piece as an homage to the art of photography. The fusion of audio and visual art that musical theatre already encapsulates translates so well to photography as an artform. As a director, I really enjoy the opportunity to analyze each photograph individually and have the rare opportunity to direct each vignette as its own individual story connected only by the themes of art and interpretation.   

I want to thank everyone for coming out to support this production. The process has not been without its share of challenges, but the cast, band, and crew have worked tirelessly to get this show to where it is today, and I could not be prouder of what we have achieved. So, without further ado, we ask that you Hold. Still. Focus. And enjoy the show!
