257 Contemporary Global Problems ACP

Gr  10 - 12 |3 Credits | Semester-Long | 5x per Cycle

This course provides opportunity for original student analysis of the issues of their times. A representative list of topics investigated in the past includes: the United Nations, Collective Violence/Genocide, Refugee Crises, Global Climate Change, Environmental Decay and Sustainability, Women's Rights, and Urbanization. Contemporary Global Problems is designed for the globally and socially conscious student, and fostering active citizenship is an underlying goal. Student work consists of participation in seminars and other structured class discussions activities, and completion of individual and group projects.
