309 Foundations in Mathematics 9 CP

This course along with Foundations in Mathematics 3010 create a two-part course designed to provide instructional focus on numeracy, basic mathematical skills, problem-solving and an introduction to algebra, geometry and statistics. Students will review basic skills and apply them to new situations while learning more about problem-solving strategies. Students will explore the basic structure of algebra and how it applies to geometry. Enrollment is by teacher recommendation.

Essential Skills:

• Simplify, solve and evaluate numerical and algebraic expressions and equations

• Interpret geometric representations using correct notation and vocabulary

• Interpret and create graphical representations using correct mathematical notation
