This is the second part of a two-part course (along with Foundations in Mathematics 309) designed to provide instructional focus on numeracy, basic mathematical skills, problem-solving and an introduction to algebra, geometry and statistics. Students will review basic skills and apply them to new situations while learning more about problem-solving strategies. Students will explore the basic structure of algebra and how it applies to geometry. Enrollment is by teacher recommendation.
Essential Skills:
Simplify, solve and evaluate numerical and algebraic expressions and equations
Interpret geometric representations using correct notation and vocabulary
Interpret and create graphical representations using correct mathematical notation
